On September 25, 2025, New York City became an unlikely but fitting venue for a bold conversation about African investment. Bullish Kenya NYC 2025, convened by The Kenyan Wall Street brought together over 110 attendees from 5 continents and 15+ countries — with 50 non-Kenyan financial institutions and corporates in the room, collectively representing more than $50 trillion in assets under custody.
The event was built around a simple but powerful conviction: that regardless of politics, investors should be bullish on Kenya.
The programme opened with a "Why Kenya?" presentation by KenInvest CEO John Mwendwa, who walked attendees through the macroeconomic trends and policy shifts positioning Kenya as Africa's premier investment destination. This was followed by a high-profile panel discussion — "Africa's Home of Exceptional Return" — featuring Ambassador Philip Thigo (Special Envoy on Technology), KCB Group CEO Paul Russo, Safaricom CFO Dilip Pal, and TRIFIC SEZ CEO Brenda Mbathi, moderated by Dr. Lydiah Kemunto Bosire. The panellists debated how international investors can unlock strong returns in the Kenyan market.
